The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), introduced to better assess a soldier's combat readiness, consists of six events: the 3 Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL), where soldiers lift the maximum weight they can three times; the Standing Power Throw (SPT), where soldiers throw a 10-pound medicine ball backward and overhead for distance; the Hand-Release Push-up (HRP), where soldiers complete as many hand-release push-ups as possible in two minutes; the Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), where soldiers sprint, drag a sled, carry two 40-pound kettlebells, and sprint again over a 250-meter course; the Leg Tuck (LTK), where soldiers complete as many leg tucks as possible; and the 2-Mile Run (2MR), which is timed. Each event is scored on a scale, with different standards based on the soldier's age and gender.
